I saw a reallllllly nice 72G bowfront at petco... not a crazy price either!!
are bowfronts ok for turtles? i hope so!!... any thoughts?? thanks!!

Bowfronts are fairly expensive, what was the price?

^^ What he said. I have not seen a tank at petco (in any size over about 15 gal) for under 100$. Bow fronts are beautiful, but the bow will also distort the view a little bit. One last thing to remember is, craigslist.com and freecycle.org they have GREAT deals.

I got a 55 gal with stand, for 75$, i Sanded it, wire brushed it, sanded softley, rustolum ,and then fat black. And as youve seen in my pictures it does pretty well.

The 72 gallons bowfront's dimensions are 48x18x22. At its widest point it's 18 inches, at both ends it's 12 inches and then bows out to 18 inches.

The All-Glass 75 gallon aquarium dimension's are 48x18x20. Meaning throughout the entire tank the width is 18 inches. This allows more swimming area for your turtles which they'll greatly appreciate.

Look in your yellow pages if you have any large fish specific stores. These overall pet stores such as, PetCo, Petsmart, Petland etc will have much highers prices and smaller tanks because they don't have as much room dedicated to fish.

i guess the price isnt as good as what you guys have mentioned... i'm still shopping around, but the tank+stand is $360 for the 72 bow. i know the dimensions of the tank, and it's actually the 12" on the ends that i really like - it fits my apartement much bettter than a regular 18" tank. hopefully the turtles still like it, but the bowfront tank is sooooo nice to look at. i'm willing to sacrifice a bit of distortion i guess.

that isnt a bad price for a bowfront tank of that size actually. Sounds rather nice. The distortion wont bother you all that much i wouldnt think, they arnt going to sell something that's visually unappeasing. I'd love to see pics if you get it.

But if you havent gotten it, just make sure to shop around first as well.

we just got an 80 gallon with stand for a little under 400....dont know if you think that is a good price but it was a cheaper than other places...we got it at petco

Bowfronts are gorgeous! I looked at these too, but had to nix the idea because the ones I looked at were grossly expensive.
