My turtle is young, and only about 2 inches long. ive had him only for a few days. he has a filter and ive been using water conditioner. hes in a 20 gallon tank and has about 12 gallons in there. he has basking light, and it is a UVB/Heat light. he has a basking platform, and its made of a sort of foamy thing. i got it from petco. ive been trying to feed him baby turtle pellets, but hes not thrilled with them. he eats lots of bloodworms though. he ate last night. he is in his own little room, and is not near a window. there is not much activity in the room, ive been mostly trying to get him acclimated to living here.
im concerned because all of a sudden, there are tons of tiny, wriggling white worms in his tank. i did some research and the most likely candidate looks to be roundworms. ive also found out that ferbenzadole is the medication he will most likely need to cure the worms. i have ferbenzadole readily available to me, as i work in a feed store. does anyone know the amount i would need to give him to de-worm him? or is roundworm serious enough for small turtles that i should get him to a vet? please help! this is my first turtle, and my first post, so any help is GREATLY appreciated!
