Hey my names Desiree and I just have to say I'm so glad I found this website!
I have a RES named Reptar and hes the probably the best pet I've had the only problem is that everyone I know doesnt understand why someone could love having a turtle and every time I would talk about something Reptar did or something interesting I learned about turtles I would always be given this crazy look like I said something awful.
I was looking at a website and it gave me a link to here and let me tell you its a GODSEND. I love knowing I'm not the only one who loves and appreciates having a turtle and the images have given me a ton of great ideas on what to do for him next, I'm always looking on ways to better improve Reptar's home.
Has anyone else ever been treated weird for loving an animal that wasn't a dog or a cat?

Hello, welcome to the site! Yes I've received all sorts of responses as a result of connecting with a non mammal pet. Turtles and even fish have traits and personalities to an extent, and I really enjoy getting to know them. All the time I get "but its a TURTLE!" :lol:

Anyway welcome, and if you've got any questions feel free to ask in the right sections. What I did when I first joined this site was read the older pages of posts and see what everyone had already talked about. You can learn a lot from other people's experiances.

Welcome! Yeah, people don't get it! lol. But it's only because they don't know how much fun turtles really are!!
