my turtles sleep underwater. they either sleep lop sided, on their bellies and sometimes on top of each other. and if all fails, they end up going to the water heater and taking it off the glass wall. and end up sleeping on that. and every time it's taken down, it usually wont start back up for after another 30 minutes. but the water temp stays the same. any help on how to get them away from the heater:?:

try a different heater.
secure it to the side of the tank somehow
maybe use string and suction cups to sort of trap it there

The heater won't start for 30 minutes after it's moved?

it would start but it takes time for the heater to adjust to the water temp and then id turn it on. to adjust it to the water it takes like 15 minutes. then it starts to work which is about another 5 minutes or so.

So you mean you wait 15 minutes for it to acclimate? It shouldn't take that long to kick in...

being on the safe side yeah i wait about that long. i didnt think it does take that long. once i plug it in, it works instantly

My RES constantly knock around the Ebo Jagers and Stealths... hasn't been a problem.
