Hello,

I have two red eared sliders and I've tried feeding them lettuce, aquatic plants and carrots but they won't touch it.. They only eat Reptimin Sticks and live crickets..

Is there any way to get them to eat healthy foods? What other food should i give them besides Reptimin sticks and live crickets?

Thanks,
Roy

Shellmo is 7 months old and Snoopy about 6 years old. I've had them for about 3 months now.

Personally, I'd go with tough love at this point. With pretty much all of my animals, they eat what they're given or they go without. Your turtles will eat the veggies when they are hungry enough. I offer pellets or live food Monday, Wednesday, Friday and veggies on other days. Give that a shot for a week or two and see if you notice them starting to nibble at the veggies.

Ditto what jenaero said. Also, you might try different varieties of lettuce if you haven't done so already. I've noticed my RES isn't all that crazy for Romaine but he absolutely loves red lettuce.

thanks for all the responses. What would be a good veggie to start off with? What other food should I mix in their diet?

Thanks!
