Hi, my mom bought my little sister 2 hatchlings that i now have to take care of, which is fine since i always wanted turtles of my own since the ninja turtles. I bought a 10 gal tank (expected to upgrade in about a year or 2) and spent a lot of dinero/money on petco.com with everything arriving this Wednesday. I felt i had everything covered until something unexpected happened today.... my mom found another turtle on our front yard. where it came from, i can only assume a hawk dropped it off after getting tired of carrying it around. The turtle is another RES, but it's about 1.5-2 inches long, i'm going to try to further customize my tank by making a second floor basking area that so many have done on this forum. I was going to give it to my girl friend, but i know i can take better care of this turtle. Any suggestions or advice are welcome.

welcome to a great site. Three turtles is going to be alot of work. You are going to need a much larger tank (a good rule is 10 gal per inch of turtle). This site has all the info you need .

Good luck with your turtles. I think they will give you a lot of enjoyment. I know my turtles have.
I have two female red ear sliders.
Chimpy - 5.5 inches
Chompy- 6.0 inches
Both were born about 7/2007
Got them -- 9/2007

Hey neighbor! Was bored so I was just browsing the site and noticed your from Pomona...me too. I live in the south side...you?

Well hope you are enjoying your turtles. Looks like you have your hands full with three. I only have one...was gonna get another one, but after finding out real fast how much it costs to take care of them...I'm glad I didn't.

If you need to know where any good LFS or rather LRS are in the area, just let me know...or hit me up if you find or know of any yourself, kay, thanks. Take Care
