Habitat - Indoor :: Turtles eating the zoomed turtle dock.

I know alot of people on here use this. I have the XL one and one of my turtles (the male) is eating the dock. There's a decent size chunk missing already. What should I do?

Offer cuttlebone.

Get something different No matter how much cuttlebone or play toys I give mine she just can't get enough of that dock. Huge chunks out of 3 sides of it, and that was after scraping that sand-like stuff off the bottom cuz she ate all that. My little moron, made such a mess in the tank!

Usually cuttlebone will stop them from chewing on the turtle dock. The theory is that they are chewing on the dock because they crave calcium. Once in awhile a turtle chews on his/her dock even when cuttlebone is available. If that's the case, you might as well bite the bullet and get a different sort of basking platform. For sure the turtle docks are not meant to be eaten. No telling what the long term affect might be of a turtle eating his/her dock.

My turtle would try to eat the ramp I had for him , and that was stone. After a little white he stopped . Maybe time would help .
