Is the clicking dangerous? I have a Stealth heater and it makes noise when attached to the tank's glass. However, when I hold it, I can physically feel the clicking. What is it an indication of?

Thanks.

You know what? I have a different brand of heater (Hagen) and it was doing the same thing for a while. It made a clicking noise whenever it came on. I was worried about it, so I unplugged it. Checked the cord and did a visual inspection of the whole thing, and left it unplugged overnight. When I plugged it in the next day it was fine.

Maybe someone who has had this happen before can explain it...

It is just the heater turning on and off.

Before I upgraded I had a glass heater in a 30 gal. When I was going to bed, you could hear a click and then the "on" light would come on. Then it would click again and the light goes out.

I have not noticed it though with my new 250watt Stealth heater. I probably haven't paid enough attention to it. I think it's normal though.

I once used a heater called the Guardian, and it really had an audible click when it turned on and off (it also had an indicator light that would come on at the same time). I've never heard anything from the Stealths when I used them or from my Ebo-Jagers or Tronic.
