1. I dont know if you can see but at the very top (above the tank in the 1st ALMOST FINISHED photo) is a shelf that I will lower and install a light above his basking area.

2. I will most likely get a new dock for him because he is getting bigger

3. and maybe some small plants

1. The photos look like there is water splashing out but NO that is from when I was installing it

Nice looking tank! What size is it?
Good vid! I like how he tries to get up the side of the ramp first xD They're always trying to find the hard way to do things, eh?
One comment is that I'd be a bit worried about the glass thermometer, especially with it so close to the rocks. You don't want it to get broken.
It's a bit hard to tell from the pics/vid, but there's no way he get get out from the dock, right? It looks like the tank is right against the wall, but I could be wrong.
And you're right, I'd say it's time for a new dock. Looks like he nearly capsized that one!

What size is Tony? If he's over 4 inches, judging by the nails and tail, I'd say she's a "Toni"

I think I commented on your other post about the dock (bigger and more stable would be better). Tony's a nice-looking turtle.

Thanks; its a 29 gallon tank (i know right, 29, CMON). I had a problem with him getting out in my old tank. One time I was gone for 11 days and he apparently got out on the first day according to my idiot friend who thought he was "hiding" in the LITTLE PEBBLES!!! he was WITHOUT FOOD AND WATER FOR 11 DAYS!!!! but no, it is right up against the wall preventing him from getting out. I am working on a new dock, like i said, its NOT finished yet!

im very glad u posted that vid, i had been wondering about the stability of that dock. i have the same one. im gonna use it and see but i'll definately be on the look out for a new one now.

I'm not to sure about that blue light. I know that many types of specialty lights like that can actually cause your RES eye problems.

That light looks like it's very harsh. I'd stop using it. RES need a light/dark cycle and that light will interrupt that.

its not as bad as u think, i couldnt get a good photo with my stupid camera and it made the light all freaky

But RES need a complete darkness night cycle. It's probably fine for evening "dusk", but when you go to bed, his/her tank should go completely dark, that way they know it's sleepy time.

So you don't keep the nightlight on at night?
I'm confused at to what your light cycle is like.
It should mimic nature... you should have UVA/UVB during the day, and darkness at night. Turtles don't need a "night light".

Hopefully you don't leave the night light on all night....they need to sleep in total darkness at night.

The night light would be cool to leave on at night like if you were having a party with lots of people over or something. That could be like mood-lighting for the party!
