I thought Shelly was female name equivalent of Sheldon? I might try the Aqueon heaters soon. Had a couple of Jagers stop working recently, need to order my backups

In most cases I think it is. As far as Aqueon, they are good heaters. I wrecked this one by forgetting to unplug when removing the water (did it more than once so not surprising it eventually stopped functioning properly). Just remember that they recommend the Pro version for turtles. No glass on those and Sheldon can't bust it with her shell.

The thing I like about Aqueon is that if it stops working they will tell you to cut the cord off. Take a picture of it and e-mail it to them. Then they just send you another one. At least that's what they did with me. Pretty nice and easy warranty.

When I called them a little while ago - they were super helpful. My only regret was not saving the original packaging for the heater I have now because I might have been able to have them help me figure out what the heater is doing and if it was covered by warranty. It works out this way with buying the bigger heater anyway because the next tank upgrade won't require me buying a new heater.

I haven't tried the Jager warranty yet. I did have 4 Stealths that were part of a recall, so Marineland did pay up but I wouldn't trust any heater from them again.

cutepanda86, do you know what model you had? Manuals are usually online.

Lol! My girlfriend took care of calling them. All I did was cut the cord and took the picture. :-)

I had a Pro 150 watt. It's all good as I installed the Pro 250 watt when it came in yesterday.

Question - Sheldon is still a little melancholy. The temps are supposed to be stabilizing around here by the weekend and I'm cleaning the filter on Friday. Sheldon is still blinking a lot. Anyone ever have that happen? Her eyes don't seem to be puffy or anything. It seems mostly to happen when she's in the water.

There shouldn't be. I use filtered water for Sheldon's tank.
