Hey all,

I have a new rescue RES and he shows so pyramiding in his shell. Can anyone recomed a better diet to correct this. Her is what we feed him now

Mon - Repto-min pellet
Tues -Romaine lettuce
Wed - Mix - Romain and carrot
Thur - Romaine lettuce
Fri - Repto-min pellet
Sat - Romaine lettuce
Sun - Romaine and Carrot mix

He also has a few feeder fish roaming in his tank. Four total placed in there but only one remains.

That looks pretty good. How much are you feeding him on the pellet days?

You can give him more than one pellet. When he is not eating fish, the general rule of thumb is an amount that is about the size of its head. I use a bit less, but Penelope is older and larger and less reliant on protein. You can't really correct pyramiding, but it may get less noticeable as he grows. Just keep feeding a reasonable amount (like you are). How big is he? If he is a little guy, he may need a little nore protein (pellets).

You can for sure feed more than one pellet. Also I would stop feeding the romaine and feed red leaf instead.

How big is he? I'd also suggest Mazuri or Omega-One instead of Reptomin.

He is about 5-6 inch and 3 yrs old.

Yes, cut down on the pellets and treats as much as possible. I'd also give veggies every day.

There's also a good chance he's a female.
