General Care Discussion :: RES Turtle fungal infection or shedding scutes?

Hey guys,

I had bought my 2 red eared slider turtles 3 months ago. They have a great appetite, bask often, are very active and don’t appear sick. My tank has a basking dock, UVB lighting, filter, regular water changes but no heat lamp.

However, for the 3 months, both turtles were slowly developing weird shiny spots on their shells that started from a small area and had spread all over their shells now. These shiny white spots can only be seen when they are underwater and with a strong light.

I read online that it could either be fungal infection or shedding of their scutes. Can anyone tell me which is it?

I can't tell from the pictures, though in the video it looks more like shedding. You also might need to cut back on the pellets.
