General Care Discussion :: Large bumps on the neck??

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Wed Apr 10, 2013 6:41 pm   Large bumps on the neck??

Today I looked at my turtle and there is two large bumps on the sides of his neck. I don't know how long they have been there; every time I walk into my room he runs and hides under his ramp. But the past week and a half he has been making sounds that almost sound like he's tooting and I don't know if they are related. I haven't changed his diet and he has been eating. Hes usually out from under his ramp when I walk in and he's moving around now. The only things that aren't normal are the bumps, the sounds, the the hiding when I walk in. Do you have any idea what could be causing this to happen?

It may need a vet visit. I've never dealt with an abscess, I had just seen that post recently and immediately thought of it from your description.

You'll probably want those more experienced to chime in.

Yes, take it to a herp vet. It's a fairly routine procedure to have it treated.
