As I have stated not long ago, I am upgrading my RES tank. I am hopefully about to get her a 150 gallon tank but before I can set it up for her I need to make sure I have proper filtration. If at all possible I would like to keep the one I am currently using and just add a second. I know there is no such think as too much filtration but I would like suggestions for the second filter. The current one I think is for a 75 gallon tank. How big would I need to make the second one?

I would say save your pennies and spring for the Fluval FX5, you can sell the second one and wont need any additional filter upgrades.

Where is the best place/price to get the FX5? What about buying used?

Big Al's and Pet mountain have had sales recently, maybe Black Friday will bring some new deals. Buying used is OK if you know the source you are buying from and you replace all the media.

I am very familiar with pet mountain, its where I order my food. Don't remember where I ended up ordering it but it didn't come with its intake cover. Kinda mad about that and trying to see if they will send me one free of cost seeing as its a brand new filter and everything else is there

They or the manufacturer should respond... I'd be surprised if neither didn't.

Manufacturer actually said it wasn't their responsibility because I got it from a 3rd party. Thankfully, said 3rd party not only responded faster but have already taken care of everthing.

That's not an acceptable response for a manufacturer but I'm glad it's taken care of.
