Habitat - Indoor :: PIX of Tobis new ABT basking area FINALLY!!! ;)

Its been a long time since I've posted any pix on here....so I want to see if I remember how. Plus, Steve, you asked to see Tobi Girls new ABT basking area. Sooo, here it is. I have a new dual clamp lamp I need to put up and maybe some pretty aquarium paper on the top...although she actually doesn't mind being seen.

She's also in the process of laying eggs right now too! Didn't even know she was gravid this time!
She loves her basking area. This is the first time since we built the ABT area that she has layed eggs....
Its pretty awesome! She's just crawling on top and getting warm and letting them go one by one. 2 so far. But if anyone remembers my crazy girl, there could be MANY more eggs to come.

This is her OLD set up. Shes 12 inches long now and almost 5 pounds...so the ramp or ANYTHING ELSE doesnt work for basking...

Wow she is a big girl. That is cool set up you have for her. So is she laying her eggs on her basking area or your moving her after she warms up to some dirt to lay them?

Shes laying them on the basking area and they fall into the water where she then goes down into the water and eats most of each egg. Shes very comfortable laying there.

Hey camee, thanks for the update! I remember that whole gravid ordeal you went through a few years ago, has she been gravid since then and now?

Shes gravid at least once a year Steve. She my egg laying girl. Although nothing EVER quite like Halloween 2006 or 7? Its all on here somewhere. Where she was laying tons off eggs every few days...

So what do u think of the basking area??

It looks good, though you can probably increase the water a bit to make it easier for her to get up there.

That must have been a record amount of eggs she was shooting out.

... I may have just found the solution to my future problem of eggs. I didn't know they'd just eat them.

Thanx Steve, and yes it mustve been !!! Crazy egg girl. Shes let go of about 5-6 now....
And right after the pic was taken i filled up the tank. That water evaporates every dang day here.

Apondfortimmy, yes they do. And good protien too. She usually leaves a bit of shell here or there, but i just clean that out.
