Would res get along with a box turtle in a 300 gal tank?
I plan on making it semi land and semi aquatic. I'm wondering if they would get along. I've had them all together before and the didn't seem to dislike each other. Just gave one another's strange looks, like what the heck is that o.O but other then that they seemed fine with each other. I've never had them together longer then a week. If they were to live together permanently would something strange arise that I should know about?

Two completely different types of turtle aquatic and land. Terrible idea to say the least.
I build acrylic ATBAs.

I'm aware that they both have diffent needs but the tank is large enough that I could make it semi aquatic and semi land they both need water and land. I'm just wondering if they would get along? Or if there would be any strange thing I should know about that might happen.

Box turtles can't swim very well. If it fell into deep water, it would drown and die.

This is something that can be done with a pond enclosure. Not a 300 gallon tank.

It's not necessarly a tank. It's like a pond thing. I'm not sure what its called....but its a giant water proof wooden pond thing, I know it has a name but I'm not sure of what it is.. And Mr.Turtle (the box turtle) swims quite well strangely enough. He loves the water.

I would not take the chances, Either way you sacraficing something for the other. Giving up land from the box turtle for the water or giving up water from the res for the box turtle. Anyone living together if you go through with your plans you shouldnt see any problems. Ive seen it done at zoos and poeple homes like this one.

I've had my box turtle in there. And I put in a pond for him. But my boyfriend and I are going to rearrange his home. And we figured since its had a pond in there before we were gonna make 1/3 water and 2/3s land. And we figured we could put our res with him.

Do you have pictures of the set up? Keep in mind that RES usually need at least 75 gallons of water to maintain good water chemistry and provide enough swimming space.
