Does anyone know where you can get that small aquarium clover? When I was stationed in WI. I used to get that stuff for free from the planted aquarium club there. My turtles LOVED that stuff and it looked great. Trying to figure out if I can get it online or possibly locally.

You would have to local research in you area to find if a place sells that. Otherwise you can get the stuff online. I order my stuff actually off ebay as they sell aquatic plants for down right cheap. Actually ordering myself water lettuce this week.

Know of any good ebay sellers on the east coast? How so the plants do during shipping?

Try a local pond store. Plants do fine with shipping, most shippers will use priority mail for live plants 3-5 days to your door.

I think it's illegal in North Carolina. But i'm not quite sure.

The smaller variety is called Duckweed, the larger Frogbit.

A lot of them are illegal because "Duckweed" and other forms can destroy ponds by stealing the oxygen and blocking sunlight.

Yup kinda figured that. There's lots of ebay sellers and planted forums to get this stuff from. Easy to find now that I know the correct name lol. The duckweed really does look great in the aquarium I'll have to get some pics after I get this new setup going.

Won't grow too well unless you have some awesome lighting.

I recommend putting some in a bucket out back in the sun and throwing some of that culture in every now an then. Then you'll have your own duckweed source.

That stuff grows here in the wild. The kids brought back some tadpoles from the creek in the woods behind our house with 3 individual pieces. I kept it in a 2 gallom critter carrier with the tadpoles outside and the stuff filled the carrier in about 2 weeks. I put most of it in the pond to let it grow there. It grows faster in the critter carrier, so I just keep moving it over as it fills up the carrier.
