Nice, I love it! I think I'm going to try that myself for my 50 Gal tank, if my friend who was going to design an above tank area with wood and acryllic to match the stand he's making me isn't able to come up with a functional design for the ATBA.

Very good DIY by the way.

I agree with everyone, that looks really great!! I really like the way you secured the hinge top to the non-ATBA side. Really creative.

I have the same concern regarding the screws. If the turtles bit them, they could seriously injure themselves. You can get some bolt cutters to shorten them, or just get some sort of cover for them :wink:

All in all it looks fantastic!

i really like this ATBA, i really want to make one for my red ear slider being that i only have a 20 gallon long tank i dont want the basking area to take room up inside, im just not even sure were to begin.
