My RES has a swelling in eyes and doesn't open eye properly since 1 and a half day now.
Firstly i thought he would be sleepy but since thereafter his eyes are in same condition.
He opens his eyes for some time properly, but also scratches his face with his hands.
i'm going to a vet today.

But can someone really help me out.
Does someone have experience about this.
Plz.

Has he been eating? Are you using a UVB or any other kind of light?

Yes he is eating i've been giving him turtle food(taiyo)

No UVB rays are give to him.
Instead i take him to bask in sun at terrace.
He enjoys that.

here temperature is 28 C to 33 C
is it ok to take him to bask in sun.

But soon i'm going to setup a light.

I've taken him to a vet. today.
Dr. told swelling is due to vitamin A deficiency.
& has given an injection to him.
He told soon he will be active like before.

His diet is not normal he eats very less.

Is it normal when eye treatment is going on.

Vitamin A deficiency shouldn't impact appetite. If he is vitamin A deficient, the shot would have helped right away. If the eyes are still swollen, it could be something else.

But doctor told that it could take some days to reduce the swelling of eye.

Can you post a picture of the eye? How big is the turtle?

Yes i will post it.
I have applied cod liver oil over its eye(closed) & i tried to feed him but he did not open his mouth.

He's nearly 3 and half inch.
Normally he's very active.

How long have you had him? I would try getting him outside for some sunlight.

I had him on 1st. april 2012
I will definitely take to get him some sunlight.
But for how much time.

As much as you can give him, at least 30 minutes if you can manage it. Make sure he has constant supervision.

Yes i got him to bask.
He was active there.

I called up doc. he told it could take some days to cure.
Since how much of deficiency potency is there.

I could take him to bask once a day or twice.
