they're both pretty much junk, but go for the fluval, it's the lesser junky of the two

ok thanks i now know which one to choose. Ever since i joined i have learned so much about RES i never realized how much work and money they really are. Im glad i down sized from 7 turtles to 1

FLUVAL 204 is this a good filter

"305 will handle up to 30 turtle gallons. 405 will handle up to 40 turtle gallons."

This is from the link that I provided above, its very specific. Basically a fluval 405 is ok for a 40 gallon. 205 is pretty pointless in the turtle world. To avoid future upgrades you should go for the fluval fx5.

ya but see i only have 13 gallons of water in a 20 gallon tank. Plus when peanut gets big enough to go into the pond that where he/she will be all the time so i might have to up grade one more time after this cause thursday im getting a 40 gallon tank
