Water that is inside a packaged can of tuna. It has a pretty strong taste and smell.

So if we dip the pellets in tuna water, will she eat them?

It's something to try... they normally don't eat what they can't see but the strong smell might make it more enticing.

Hi Gauri, just wanted you to know I'm in India too. If your in the Bombay area I can give you a few places with good vets, where you can get supplies from and just help in general, it is difficult to keep a turtle (especially if you're just beginning) but you learn as you go. I had many problems with my turtle in the beginning, she almost died from respiratory infections but this site and the forum helped me a lot and a year and a half later, she's a happy turtle. Somethings that are available in the US are not always available to us so we have to make changes and use a little creativity especialy for making basking areas etc. If you need help with figuring out some thing .. Just ask

Do you have any source of heat for her yet? Even a simple 40 watt light bulb (not flourescent) is ok right now... Put it on top of a land area where she can climb up and sit under it outside the water. Is she sleeping in the water? Are her eyes better now and is she eating?

Oh No! My turtle's eyes are again swollen. But there is now another problem. Cod Liver oil doesn't suit her! Once I put cod liver oil in her eyes as they were swollen. But after some time her leg turned white! We all were very worried. After an hour it became normal, but when my mother again put oil in her eyes, her leg again turned white! Why does it happen like that?

I'd stop with the cod liver. It's not a long-term solution and I think it might be necessary for a vet visit. Has anything changed from the last time?

Tuna water is the liquid in the tuna can. But make sure the can says it is water and not a seasoned oil or something else.

Yes. She has not been eating anything since four days. She is just jumping around and sleeping!

Yes they are a little but she nevertheless opens them.
