Too warm will make him shed more than he needs to. Just keep it at 78f, and he will shed naturally.

Water quality could also cause shedding. What kind of enclosure do you have him in? If you could please answer the questions in Steve's signature post above.

well the water temperature is between 75-85 degrees
i put my R.E.S in a small Tank coz its still a baby
but i just realised that the water contain their shed skin when i change their water everyday.
does that means their shedded skin will soon released from its body?how long does that take?

75-85 is a big temperature swing, try to keep it at a consistent 80F for a hatchling.

oh i see,and btw my res recently became really inactive, and didn;t want to move,it just float and float like sleeping.it is no eating normally, usually i fed it 2 until 3 pellet at a time, now it will just eat only one and go back to floating state, and will only wake up if i disturb it.is it okay if my res inactive during shedding state?

Shedding should make any difference in the turtles behavior.

Are the eyes fully open? Or do you see any puffiness? The condition of the eyes are a good indicator of a turtle's health. I would keep the water at a constant 80F if you think its sick. I wouldn't let it get up to 85F though, it's a bit too hot. Try to keep the water as clean as possible. If your not using a filter you should try to get one. Good luck, and keep an eye on him. If this behavior keeps up you might want to see a vet.

yes the eyes will open both of them if i take him out of water, feels like it is really weak and will only open both of its eyes for 1 minute and back to sleep, and if its pellet drown,it will try to swim to the bottom of the tank but failed, its like there is gas in its belly or somewhere making it float all the time.before shedding it could swim and stay on bottom.is it a sign of RI?

Eyes staying closed like that is a sign of turtle illness. Yea he will open them maybe if you pick him up and startle him. I think you should see a vet.
