Urgent Care :: baby res drowned

idk what i did wrong i have 3 baby res the water temp is 75 the basking area is 90 and the water is clear wit a couple decorations and a water level of 6 inches with both uvb and uva light. i came home today to find squirt lying on his back on the bottom of the tank idk how long he was down there. his eyes are open but he is not moving at all. wat should i do to protect the other 2 pls tell me i have squirt dry docked right now

That's the link for what to do for Squirt. For the other two I would keep a close eye on them. to make sure they are not sick. Have plenty of things in the tank for them to get to the surface easy and rest. Did Squirt get stuck on something or trapped? Make sure anything you put in the tank is stable and can't fall on them and trap them. Did Squirt show any signs of illness before this happened? Good Luck! I hope Squirt makes it!

squirt didnt seem sick at all he was the most out going out of my three babies. i called out of work and tried everything but sadly he was too far gone when i got to the vet she said she would try but there was no hope i cant believe this happened. and my tank is set up so that they can rest no matter where they are in the tank. and squirt was not trapped. I dont know what i did wrong but i am thinking of giving my turtles to my gf cause i feel like i failed them the other two turtles seem almost as ssad as me.

It may not be anything you did. Some baby turtles just won't make it. I believe it's called failure to thrive. I'm sorry about Squirt. You did everything you could. Good luck with the other ones.

Sorry to hear it Turtles are very good at hiding illnesses, so it's likely there was nothing you can do.

now the other two babies arent eating what can i do. they were eating fine till they lost their brother. is this a greiving process im doing a 100% water change wat else can i do to help them move past this

What temp is the water? Are they showing any signs of sickness open mouth breathing, lopsided swimming, mucus? What are you feeding them? As Steve said turtles are good at hiding illness. Answer the questions in Steve's signature so we can help you better.

They aren't sad. Try to bump the water temps up to 78 - 80. See if they will eat something smelly like tuna or krill. If that doesn't work some live food may. A worm or cricket. Try the tuna first. That's not good for long term but can be used as an occasional
treat or to encourage eating. If they eat the tuna then next feeding soak some of the reptomin in the tuna water before you feed them. Keep a lose eye out for any signs of illness, open mouth breathing, mucus, lop sided swimming. I believe you said the only symptom was not eating right? They are active and basking like normal?

Rest assured, you did NOTHING to cause this. Looks like you had everything well set up. Sometimes these things happen...as Love of Animals put it, "failure to thrive"
Moving forward--keep an eye on your other 2...Jello Shots (for me) always worked in the "not eating" department.... or Reptomin Floating Food Sticks
