i have 2 adolescent red eared sliders. gus whos about 2inches and woogie whos about an inch and a half used to share their tank peacefully then about 5 days ago they started fighting so iseparated them but now woogie never basks and gus ALWAYS basks. also while gus basks he lays his head in the water. like hes lazy. he occasionally drinks but mostly just puts his head in the water. is this bad? he still eats but barely ever swims. im also worried about woogie. he never basks. cant he get shell rot? how often should they bask and for how long to prevent shell rot? the tanks are set up right. i read alot about them just cant figure out whats wrong. ihope gus isnt sick!!! HELP!

Are both tanks and setups identical? What are the water temps, basking temps and how long have they been separated?

How warm is the water and basking area temp for each set-up?

the water is 77 basking 88. gus stayed in the 10 gal tank and i moved woogie into a 30 gal tank. dont have the money to get gus a bigger tank yet. and theyve been separated about 3 weeks or so. good filtration and i clean the tanks completely every few days. now the bottom of gus's shell isnt so bright yellow its getting pinkish brownish in some spots. and i think theyre both shedding too.
