Habitat - Indoor :: Glues for use in aquarium?

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I have a goal to put plastic plants on suction cups. I used to have them anchored by rocks so they could push them around, but my toitles always found a way to take the rocks out and make the plants float. I tried using aquarium silicone to attach the suction cups and plants, and even after sitting for a few days, they came undone in the water (or it wasn't strong enough for the turtles).

Is there another kind super-strong of glue that's safe to be in their water?

Im pretty sure all super glues and all that kind of stuff wouldn't be safe for aquariums unless it says aquarium safe on the back which I have never seen but I rarely look at glues so there could be one out there.

I know some people have used hot-glue in past DIY projects. Maybe there's some other way or some other material you can use?

Strange...I've got some plastic plants stuck to rocks with aquarium silicone that I've been using for a few years now. To help the plants and rocks adhere to the silicone, I:

1. Made sure the rock surface that the aquarium silicone was going to be applied to was as flat as possible (and I mean really flat).

2. Roughened up both the rock surface and the plant base with sand paper.

3. Applied the silicone evenly, stuck the pieces together and clamped them together to get a super tight fit.

4. Left the pieces clamped together for 48 hours.

Thank you! I tried the aquarium silicone again by cleaning both surfaces with alcohol then roughing up the surface and it's holding strong so far. ^_^
