ok so i bought 2 bamboo plants for my turtles tank and was just wondering if it was bad if every once in a while they ate a leave of two off of the bamboo plant and also if them biting the stem was ok because i have seen them bite at the stem of the bamboo plant they don't really tear anything off just leaves a little scratch on the plant...kind of like when they use the cuttle bone but the plant doesn't have calcium but is it bad that there doing this and is bamboo bad for them???? sorry if this is hard to understand if it is tell me and ill try to put it simpler

That's just a form of lucky bamboo. Yes, they're toxic. Don't put them in the turtle's tank.

ok well what should i look for if my turtles might have ate some and there toxic

i was researching some more about it and alot of people say they've used it and there turtle eats it and nothing happens alot of people are saying that its only toxic to cats and not reptiles

i were to use bamboo as a waterfall feature in my vivarium??

one of the thoughts i had for my waterfall was to use bamboo. should i avoid the idea just incase of toxins in the dried bamboo?

I think I've seen pictures of people's tanks that have bamboo in them. Does it say anywhere on the site that bamboo is bad for turtles?

There's not enough info on how reptiles react to it (why risk it?) but it's also not a native plant to RES. Blulite, this is not bamboo. I'm not sure what your waterfall idea was, but if it is real bamboo, it'll likely be processed chemically.

i know that lucky bamboo is toxic in fish tanks, only when the leaves are in the water as it releases some sort of chemical into the water which is bad for fish. tank that have lucky bamboo should have the top leaves coming out of the water.
