Urgent Care :: New turtle owners/ white spots/ confusion!!!

I've had this baby res for about a month and when we got him he had a little grey spot on him but we didn't really know what it was. now its been about a month and he has little white spots on him. i figured he might be growing but i didn't wanna risk it.

Oh and is there anyway to tell if he's a boy or girl yet or approximately how old he is?

I can't really help you without actually seeing what you're talking about. Could you take a few pictures of his dry and wet shell (i'm assuming that's where the spots are)?

How big is he? You can tell the sex of a turtle when they're about 4 inches (sometimes earlier). My little one is turning 1 and he started to display male features about a month ago.

S/he's too young/small to tell the sex. When the shell length reaches around 4 inches you should know.

The spots look like the beginning of fungus. What is your turtle's set up like?

we have a 10 gallon right now, with a heater, dock, filter, and gravel. s/he's the only turtle we have.
S/he eats a good bit and thats mostly reptomin. we were thinking of adding feeder guppies though.

I don't see a UVB light and heat source mentioned. Does your turtle have them? Does your turtle bask?
