Urgent Care :: How is my RES supposed to behave after hibernation?

Hello!

I have a (about 10 year old) Red Ear Slider who went into hibernation for the first time in many years. (It was an accident, she stayed out in the cold to long :/ ) So, ever since September my turtle has been sleeping and has woken up 3 times in between now and then, but went back to sleep. Now she is awake for good and when I had tried to put her back in the water it was like she had forgotten how to swim, or even hold her breath, and at times panicked which scared the living daylights out of me. (She had been awake for many hours before I attempted to put her in her tank) Now she is floating on top of the water, not swimming, or attempting to eat.

What the heck is going on?!

3 months without water? you kinda would forget how to swim and hold your breath. wait a bit longer and your turtle should be back to normal

Man, I don't want to tell you how long RES can stay out of deep water and still remember how to swim. I wouldn't worry about them forgetting.
