I have an Eheim Pro III (2080) filter. This is my first canister filter ever and I'm having trouble getting it to start running. I'm sure I'm making an elementary mistake.

There are two intake hoses and one output hose. There is a grey pump button on top of my filter. With the adapter set to "On" I'm supposed to pump it a few times and supposedly water will run into the canister through the two intake hoses and fill it. After it fills I'm supposed to plug in the filter and it will run.

However, I can't get the steady stream of water to start. A little will go into the filter, but if I stop pumping it stops. What am I doing wrong?

z-se -- I suggest that you call the manufacture. They have a help desk.!!

I have no idea. The same thing I was doing before. Although the left input seems to work better than the right input tube? :-|
