I'm going to guess that the mouth foaming may have been caused by something he ate. It's certainly a possibility. You may want to check and recheck his original tank to ensure nothing got in there that shouldn't have been in there.

Great to hear he's doing well, don't worry about a little lost growth, he'll catch up!

I just looked at my red ear slider about 10 minutes ago and she's foaming at the mouth also.

I have no idea what to do, i cant really afford a vet right now. .

She's ain a 40 gallon tank with three other turtles (two of which I'm trying to give away because they're all getting too big)


But where in NJ are you? I'm in the central area, near asbury park.

This is a bit of an old topic, but you should separate the turtles if you think there is an illness or injury. Take her out of the water if she is having difficulty breathing or swimming.
