Ello!
I am a newbie to the Turtle World. I was given 2 baby turtles as a gift and love them already! They are very small "hatchlings", I believe. I want to do my best to take care of them and am learning all I can to do so.
They are very friendly little guys/girls? And the larger one is quite the escape artist (thus the name).. He got out the first day I had them while I was off to the pet shop to find their new habitat. They are safe in their new spacious aquatic home now :)
They have a very healthy appetite and take after me when it comes to catching zzzz's. They love to bask under the lamp and sleep.
During my research of proper care and adequate habitats I discovered they were the little guys that are apparently illegal to sell. But they are in good hands now and will be happy and healthy for many years to come.

I would greatly appreciate any helpful hints, cautious warnings, or just good to know facts about RES because I want to do my best to see that they live long and healthy lives. :)

Best to All

*** please note.. after research on this site I have removed all small gravel from tank and replaced with large river rock... the black gravel is now in the Beta tank ***

Houdini loves the heat :)

Agreed! I find it funny too that Houdini (the one who tries to escape is the shy one) while Harry is actually pretty friendly.. He likes to come up to the top of the water and sides of the tank and follow me.
