Lol, for right now the gravel looks to be bigger than his head so it is OK. When he gets bigger is when it will be a problem :)

HUHHHH!!! *grasp and point* GRAVEL! ohnoes!!

LOL just kidding. Like meltedspork said, not a problem, yet...

If you intend to have a separate fish tank, or terrarium, you can just reuse the gravel. That's what I intend to do with the gravel I bought.

Anyways, your set up is lovely. The plants are really, really cool.

Very nice and simple setup. Very cute turtle too~! :D

But for me, I will take out those gravels no matter what size of turtles and never used gravel instead bare bottom tank :)

I too would take out the gravel. It will eventually be a problem, and will only trap debris. But it isnt a priority at all right now.

I'll probably end up taking out the gravel, it's just in there right now to hold down his plants that he hides in. For some reason, I just can't convince myself to take it out, even thought I know it's not the best thing for him.

Try putting marbles in the base of the plants. It's enough to keep them from getting away. The big ones would fit in a small plant pot/coffee mug as well.

Better yet, use the gravel in a refugium that's connected to your tank! The larger gravel isn't the best for plant rooting, but it would work.

Nice tank!

You can always get the big river stones or those nice colored glass marbles. I have the river stones in both my tanks and the boys seem to like them.
