Why are you trying to get the water to 80*? 74 is a little low, but it's perfectly within range for your turtle.

And this may be a no-brainer, but make sure and transfer the basking lights with the turtle.

Of course. I was worried because my turt is tropical.

So since the temp is staying at 74, I'm lowering the temp of my old tank to 74 so I could make an easy transfer. I'm going to keep the Pleco in the old tank for a few extra days.

Do you think the Pleco would be fine at 74 Degrees?

So the turtle and the Pleco are in the new tank. They seem to be doing great. I'll update tomorrow.

Or you could get a heater rated for for your tank size.
