Feeding and Nutrition :: lychee

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

hi guys, today i was contemplating on what to have for a bedtime snack and i decided to have some lychee.

well anyway i decided to see if my turtles liked them, i cut one up into little pieces and left them by the waters edge on the zoomed dock.

tumble and lydia both went ape to get the fruit first and it was gone in a flash.

have any of you guys fed lychee to your turtles before and is it good for them. i expect it is seeing as they wolfed it down faster than a fat man in mcdonalds.

Were they canned or fresh? I think the canned ones are usually packed in syrup, and should be avoided for turtles.
Fresh ones are probably ok for a treat. But like all fruits, it shouldn't be fed more than once a month, since it's high in sugar.
