hi, on the filtration sticky thread it says i should get a filter 2x the size of the tank.

i have a 29gallon tank right now and it came with a filter, i need a new filter since it doesnt seem to be working so well, since i should get one thats 2x the size of my tank, is this one good then?

- AC-915 Gallons per hour: 320

- Filter capacity: 6.5 liters

- Aquarium size: 70-150 gallon

Yeah, those are good to about a 60 gallon turtle tank.

Yup, that would great for a 29 gal.

Generally, we look at GPH and try to get it 3-5x the water volume. So a 29 gallon tank would need a filter rated for at least 87 GPH

However, I'm not sure what sort of filter you're looking at there. Canister filters come highly recommended for RES. What's more, if you got a good size canister filter, it will easily follow you when you upgrade your tank as your turt grows. That way, when you buy a new tank, you won't need to buy a new filter too.

A couple of popular choices that would work very well in a 29 gallon and up to a 70 gallon (or so) are the Rena XP3, or the Fluval 404/5.
