IT DIED!? WHY????? HOW????

he passed away on monday...sunday night when I tucked him in he was fine and by the morning he was acting strange and wouldn't open his eyes and wouldn't eat. I took him to the herp vet who said he was too little to have been sold to me and that he probably had a parasite before I got him and he didn't have much chance of pulling through...within a few hours he was gone. I'm really upset...and very shocked because it happened so suddenly. I was very close to him even though I only had him for a month we had a bond that was different than I've had with any other pet, I felt like his mommy...I'm just really bummed out...

and yes, I do...I got him at a pet store and that was my mistake. my herp vet told me she knows a local uro breeder so I'm going to get in touch with him and check out his stock. this time I'm going to get an adolescent or maybe an adult and I'll be able to pick out the coloring (they can be really striking reds, oranges, lime greens, etc.). by the time I get a new one my homemade vivarium will be ready, too (it's almost done except for some grouting and sealing and obviously a few days to fully cure).

I dont want to taint this post, so im not going to be thorough, Sega is also used as slang in Italian to mean something, eerrrmmmmm, dirty. PM me if you wanna no lol im just letting you know for next time.

Both the name Sega and the dino appearance kindled some childhood memories for me, haha.

he was a mali uromastyx. uromastyx is their scientific name, mali is the subspecies (there are like 17 different kinds). they're lizards, more specifically agamids. more commonly known as the spiny tailed lizard, spiny dab lizard, or just dab lizard. there's a lot of good info and pictures at www.deerfernfarms.com , they breed them.

i miss my mali uromastyx as well....his name was chubbs and he was around 2 feet long when he passed away from old age...he was around 6 years old
