Our 7 yr old RES has a bound egg. She sees the vet at 4 today. Has anyone ever dealt with this before? What will/can the vet do?

Most common thing would be for a vet to administer Oxytocin to try and induce egg-laying. Have you tried natural methods or are these simply retained?

They were able to pull the egg that was stuck out. She still has at least 2 more in her. So I have her in a tank with a sandy area in hopes that she will lay the others. Is there anything I can do to help her, or will she just lay the rest on her own?

She should just lay the rest on her own. Sometimes the turtle prefers a more natural setting, so if you have a backyard or a local park, esp. right after a rain, they'll be able to find a place they like. Just keep an eye on her, turtles can be quick little ones on land!

What condition was the egg in? Was it hard and brittle? Was it smelly or soft?

It was soft and empty almost rotten like.
