lately i have noticed cujo trying to climb the wall of his tank. he climbs onto his basking platform and tries to crawl up the side. it worries me because his platform is very close to the top of the tank. im wanting to put a screen on it but i know what size the holes in the screen have to be so they dont block UV rays. would a normal aquarium screen work?
Horsepower is how fast you hit a wall. Torque is how far you move a wall

Try to get 1/2" -- if not 1/4" isn't so bad either. It's better than no cover for an escape artist!

You can also buy any standard screen for the aquarium and cut out holes around the bulb so it can still get into the tank. I feel your pain, though I have no problems keeping the turtle in, it's keeping the cats out!
