You can by a timer from just about any pet store, hardware store or walmart/kmart. I even saw them at the dollar store the other day. The timer plugs into the wall and then you plug the light into the timer's outlet. You can set it to turn your light on and off. Look where they sell extension cords, etc.

Mat's got it! Check Walmart. They're about 4 bucks.

Timers are great all the time, not just for vacation! They give the turtle a nice reliable day/night cycle, and you don't need to worry about being home to turn the lights on and off at the right time.

Everyone has been saying that power strips with timers are available at numerous stores like Wal-mart, K-mart, and hardware stores. I've been looking at these types of stores online and have had no luck. I live in a small town, so the only major stores we have are: Wal-mart, K-mart, Lowes, Big Lots, Family Dollar and Dollar General.

Can you send me (via personal message because I'd probably loose this thread) a link to one you've bought or would recommend?
Till Next Time,

Lol, when i first read this post i was like "wow there are turtle owners who dont use timers" shame on me lol. I use times like you would use for christmas lights, same as everyones describing, they work great, like clock work, no pun intended. :)
