Just an update to everyone, anyone using there uvb light above screen mesh, it blocks out a lot of uvb rays! I was surfing around trying to get ideas on my basking spot im about to contruct, and saw lots of set ups where people had their uvb lamp above some kind of mesh, now the light will go through easily no problem but the uvb can get drastically effected by it!

You are right on target. What you can do is cut a hole in the mesh over the basking area so the UVB can go through unobstructed.

Or, if the holes in your mesh are around 1/2" on a side, then they won't obstruct enough light to be a problem.

I totally agree with spotsmama, to let everyone else know, Even 1/4" mess will effect the uvb light believe it or not!
