I finally got my turtles a 75 WATT heater!! I am so happy!! I asked the guy at the petstore about heaters, and he said that i didnt need one as long as i had a heat lamp and a UVB! But i got one because i knew that they really needed one for the winter. I also got Java moss. How much of that stuff should i put in with my turtles??
Yay for heaters! I'm planning on doing the same thing as you. For the summer the tanks are fine, but you're right, with winter coming new heaters are needed.
I've never heard of java moss....it's neat looking. Is it for your turts to eat?As for the second picture, I'm pretty sure that's anacharis, which yes, is great for your turtles.
No wonder! I use a rock at the bottom to hold down the anacharis and every time i go to see my turts the anacharis is out of the rock and floating on the top! They are probably eating it and pulling it out from under the rock.
My tank it 20 gallons, i am currently building a uptop basking area that is going to be really cool. And i am going to get a bigger tank for christmas. Maybe a 50 or 100 gallon or something. I can't wait!
