Hi,

I just raised the water level for the little guy, (hes about the size of a 50 cent pc) and put one of those turtle docks in, however, i havnt seen Pint bask at all. Ive put him up there numerous times and he literally jumps back into the water. Should i be concerned at all? or will he just figure it out eventually.
Thanks

how long have you had Pint? if you havent had him long he is probably to shy to bask infront of you. he probably basks when your not there.
Horsepower is how fast you hit a wall. Torque is how far you move a wall

As long as the temps are right (basking area 10 degrees or so (fahrenheit) warmer than the water) your turtle will instinctively bask. But I'm not surprised he won't let you put him up there - he'd rather do it himself. Sometimes people only know their shy little turtles are basking when they walk into the room and hear a little "plop". Eventually he'll get confident enough to bask in front of you.

Basking is around 88-90, water is 78 since he is soooooo small...

Sounds good. Just stand back and let nature take it's course!

You might want to review the basking requirements section to make sure you have everything covered... www.redearslider.com/basking.html

Sounds like your turt is still nervous around you. Try leaving the room for a couple hours, then see if he's basking.
