I hadn't seen a review for this product on this site, so I thought I'd add my two cents. ZooMed makes a great hood for a glass aquarium called the "Deluxe Slider Hood." It is supposed to be for a terrarium, I believe, as it is intended to "slide" forward and back to open. It works great on an aquarium as well. I have one that is 48" long. It has 4 fixtures - 3 incandescent and 1 fluorescent. This allows me to attach my Reptisun 10.0 fluorescent bulb in the fluorescent fixture (so it can run the length of the tank), I put my regular household bulb in the fixture closest to the basking area, and a ceramic heater in the "next closest" fixture to the basking area for those really chilly nights in Colorado. Each fixture is controlled by a separate switch, so they can all be turned on/off independantly. There is even a way to (although I haven't done it yet) to attach a thermometer to the unit via an internal power outlet which would prompt the ceramic heater, for instance, to turn on if the temperature in the basking area dropped below 90 degrees. This hood is a very "elegant" (if there is such a thing when it comes to turtle set-ups!) solution to many different lamps clamped to the top of the tank.

It's pretty pricey, but was a great investment for me and Turtle!

Is there glass over the lights that has to be removed? I had that problem with the first hood that I bought...it wasn't this brand though. Would have saved me some hassel.

Nope, there's no glass over the light. There was a screen (with 1/4 inch spacing), but it was easily removed by taking out 4 screws. It is very user friendly.
