Odyssea filters are are made by a company called Jebo, which, I believe manufactures out of China. Don't know which model you're interested in, but if it's the Odyssea CFS4, this filter is a redesigned Jebo 918, which is basically an inexpensive copy of Eheim's Pro 2028 (I think). From what I've read, Jebo filters in general have had mixed reviews by people on other forums who have purchased them, some liking them, some not. There are apparently a lot sold on Ebay. The main problem (initially) that some people have complained about is that they received the filter without any directions for setting it up.

The retail price I've seen the above filter sold for is about $68.00, and I've seen the bidding for one on Ebay starting at something like .99. If I were you and could afford it, I'd spend some extra money and get a better known brand filter like the XP3 or Fluval. You'll know what you're getting with it for media, it certainly will have directions, and if you have problems, there are a number of members on the forum who can help you.
