Has anyone used this light before (from big al's)

Because it seems so much cheaper than anything else out there. It says it emits uvb rays, but it doesn't state a %...

Since it doesn't say how much, I would skip it. Fluorescent bulbs should have a UVB %

If you're serious about the bulb, call big als or the mfgr and find out. Reptisun tubes, however, have a really good reputation, I don't know if that brand of bulb does. And I don't think Reptisuns are significantly more expensive that that one.

Actually, the Reptisuns are twice the price of those ones (39.99). It actually really ticks me off because the Canadian prices are twice the price of the american prices (not including shiping!). Which is ridiculous considering the high Canadian dollar  I was going to see about ordering from the US site and shipping it to Canada, but I don't think they'll let me :P

I'll contact Big Al's and ask about that brand, then let you guys know :)

Edit: Wow! Fast response! I just emailed them this morning! The person at Big Al's said they would email Quantum Aquatics to get the answer :)

Wow. Big price difference. I bought some Reptisun tubes (18-inch ones, I think) from big al's earlier in the year and I think the 5.0 was USD 19.99.
