Hello!
I've been searching for previous posts and I'm not sure whether or not it has been established, but, is there a burn-in period for ReptiGlo Compact 5.0 UVB Lamp? I have changed my old one (Zoomed Reptisun 5.0 UVB), and this has a burn in period. For now the new lamp is 12 inches away from the basking area. Should I move it closer? Thanks.

Yes, I have the same leaflet, thanks. But is the concept of burn-in period the same for all brands? I mean, my old one was Zoomed's ReptiSun and my new one is Exo-terra's ReptiGlo. Should I also execute the burn-in period for ReptiGlo, even though the burn in period really is for the Zoomed product? Thanks again.

Mainly for the Reptisun compacts, but I would do it for any compact. Also, keep an very close eye on the first days of using it. Immediately stop using it after any eye irritation symptoms.

So far so good. I've kept it at 12 inches. Dumbork seems to know she's got something new on her crib, due to her increased basking. LAst night she stayed up to 8pm, but the timer got on, so she was kinda surprised -- "Where is the light?" She decided to sleep it off. She seemed grumpy this morning though, as if it's my fault (which probably, it is) that her lights went off. But, come on, basking until 8 in the evening? Is this normal?

Yea, basking when the lights are off aren't too unusual.

My understanding here Steve is that a naturalistic dock area will retain heat, so they will continue to bask on warm rocks even after the "sun" goes down.

That may be true, though I suspect some are just too lazy to go back into the water

Lol, one of my hatchlings is just that, too stinking lazy to go in the water much. He sleeps above water, and basks most of the day, he only goes in the water to hunt, eat, and poo. He doesn't even jump back in the water to avoid us anymore. The other one is the opposite, sleeps in the water, rarely gets out of the water. Then my third, is in the middle, he is about 50 - 50 land v water. It freaks me out. The one I think he basks too much, the other not enough, and the middle one just about ok.
