Various accessories and equipment discussed here.

So this isn't really "equipment" but a water cleaner, and I thought this would be the best subforum to put it in.

My mom went out and bought this "all natural waste remover" called fluker's eco clean. I don't really believe this stuff works but I can't find any reviews about it online. Has anyone ever heard of it/used it? I'm sure it's not harmful to turtles but I can't be sure, so I wanted to check in here!

Here's their product description:

"Fluker Farms Eco Clean all natural waste remover is ideal for removing waste and uneaten food in you aquatic animal's environment. The Eco Clean contains billions of bacteria and enzymes that solubilize organic waste, reducing odors and keeping water clean and clear. Regular use of Fluker's Eco Clean will provide a healthier environment, reduce tank maintenance and help existing filters run more efficiently."

Sounds similar to "Nutrafin Turtle Clean" (Biological Habitat Cleaner). I generally avoid such products and someone posted that it made their turtle sick but most people have not posted bad things about Turtle Clean. Fluker is an OK company, so it's probably safe to use.

I'm out of town for 2 weeks, and my mom went to buy turtle food and picked up that too. Otherwise, we probably wouldn't have got it because I highly doubt it works. I'll try it and see how it works, but will probably end up returning it.

Thanks for the reply!

I've used the Nutrafin and another brand off and on. The only thing I can say is it seems to keep the tank cleaner a little longer and keeps from having to do a full water change if ever, or at least for awhile. I have never had my turtles get sick off it, but I also use exactly how much is says based on water amount not total tank size, and when I do a water change I usually adjust accordingly.
