The piece of the flow valve that connects to the faucet adapter keeps breaking. I've already replaced the entire flow valve once before and the exact same piece on the new one just broke. I've only used it about twice before. Is there any way to get a metal flow valve for this water changer?

I'm not familiar with this product but I would guess it's similar to other systems. Which part is it exactly? It's possible a plumbing supply store might carry a metal replacement part.

I've had a similar problem. I went with one brand that had a green one and attached to the faucet, lasted about a year and snapped. Bought a new one from Petsmart from a differant vendor it was gray. Wish I could say how long it would have lasted naturally, but my move broke it.

Haven't thought about trying to build one, basically its a valve when open causes a suction and pushes water trough it and sucks out of the tank. When closed it puts water back in.

It's the same thing as a python only it has the flow control (whether it's used for refilling or as a siphon control) in the form of a switch directly on the piece that connects to the faucet. Both python and aqueon have a faucet adapter. Which is ironically the only part people usually complain about. The part of the flow valve that the faucet adapter screws into is what cracked cracked. So, the top I guess.

My friend's dad super glued it for me. I haven't tried using it yet though to see if that quick fix worked.

@Listen97: Python = Green. Aqueon = Grey. Lees = Blue. Yay for color coded products XD
