New canister filter problems

I installed my canister filter about a week ago, and ever sense, it has been leaking water.
I will come in my room, and there will be a big puddle on the ground, coming from the filter, but I can't figure out WHERE on the filter. Nothing on the filter itself seems wet or leaking. I'm really confused as to what might be going on.

Any ideas?

It should be fairly obvious if there is a crack or the hoses aren't on tight...double check to make sure this isn't the case. The only other thing I can think of is maybe a small hole on one of the hoses or the new filter is a lot stronger and is splashing water out of the tank.

I checked all these things and none of them seem to be the case. No water coming out of the hoses, dosen't seem to be a crack anywhere. It can't be a small hole in the hose, because of the ammount of water leakage. I also don't think water is splashing out. I have no idea what's going on. It really bugs me.

What kind/brand/model filter is it? Is the housing seated tightly? Has the seal been lubricated?

It's a Rena Filstar. I believe the housing is seated tightly, how would I know?

If water is leaking from the seal.

If there is that much water leaking out of it, just take 10 minutes to stare at the thing and see where it's coming from.

Also, if air is getting in you'll be able to hear it inside the filter. If air is leaking in, water is probably leaking out.

The water wasn't leaking from the seal, it was where the plug comes out at. It was weird, I just went and got an exchange.
