Exo-Terra Turtle cliff?

I'm thinking of pairing the larger Exo-Terra Turtle cliff with their larger turtle terrarium (~26 gallons). I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the turtle cliffs. Is the suction adequate? Would it be appropriate for a young baby RES? Does it easily clog? (I plan to use a sand substrate.) It was advertised as doubling as a basking area. Assuming Enbi will even bask on it, would it be safe to focus his basking light on it, or is there some unforseen risk of overheating the machinery? Is it stand-alone equipment or I have to buy something else to make it function, like external suction? Does it plug in or is it batter powered? Is it durable?
I'm a turtle newb, you see.

i personally would never use it. it only allows you to fill the water so high and it takes up more space than necessary in my opinion

I liked the idea of killing two birds with one stone. However, the large cliff is a foot tall which would be about as high as I could even fill the 26-gal tank I'm looking at.
What filter would you recommend? I'm very open to suggestions.

Look into cork bark for a basking area. They're natural, environmentally friendly, looks great and not expensive. You just need to clean it when you first get it and wedge it gently between the sides of your tank.
